SUMMER PROJECT 2010
Stefanos Birmpotsoukis and me have decided to engage in a little summer project. It will be a short film.
I used a script from simplyscripts.com for my first year Visual Literacy coursework, where we had to visualise a character and a scene from a preferred script from that website. That script inspired me for a short film of my own.
I think the story is nice and short, but also snappy, with an eerie atmosphere. Perfect for our little experiment. We are still looking for actors, that can shoot in Stuttgart (Germany) over the summer. If anyone is interested (or anyone even reading this XD), please get in touch with me.
Below is my sketchbook and stop bullet points from when I was creating the character & scene for my coursework, as well as the latter. To view the images in higher quality, click on the slide-show.

And finally, I have created the first few storyboard panels and some bullet points for the intro scene. These scenes would be in the title sequence alongside the credits with some Desperate Housewifes-themed music or maybe something in the direction of Weeds, with a twist that says "nice afternoon barbecue in suburbia, but something isn't quite right". The title sequence would tell the story of people having a barbecue that would lead up to the first scene.
All close-up scenes would be accompanied with the appropriate audio, like the sizzling meat on the grill etc. - Dexter style - and intersected with shots of the sped up sky getting darker.

All links in this blog are there for a reason, there are no auto-ad-links in here! It's safe to click them ;) gives you an idea of what we are going for.

Modelling as my character is Iain - check out his blog ;)
