Birthday Card

I have realised that I haven't been posting much since the end of uni so I decided to share my recent creative outburst. It's a birthday card I have made for a friend. Most of the artwork is mine, with a few exceptions.

I decided to go for a comic style. I don't think this was for a particular reason. The line on the front of the card "no chick-flick moments" is a quote from the TV show Supernatural and holds personal relevance, as do the images on the inside of the card. It was printed on A5 230gsm card. I created the front of the card completely after an inspiration I had found online.

The breasts are from a zombie cheerleader by Sam Gross, found here.

The controller I used was found on google here.

And the Voldemort image was taken from here.

Business Cards

These are my newest business card designs. I am putting a QR code on them linked to my www.sgreel.blogspot.com showreel page. I don't know if the code is not perhaps too small to scan. I will have to test print them before I am going to print them on cards. I want to use moo.com to get them printed, as I like the rounded edges. They are a bit more expansive as vistaprint, but it will looks nicer and to be honest I don't need 250 cards. I still have my last batch I received for free and it's outdated by now :/

Medusa - Digital Painting

I have sold my first piece of artwork today :D My piece "Medusa", which I created (digitally) in second year for submission, was on display at Ethereal Light at the Wellgate, Dundee, and someone bought it.

I am currently working on another commissioned painting for Ethereal Light. It is going to be a 3-piece, either oil or acrylic, painting that consists of three A5 sized canvases hanging underneath each other.

K-Swiss

I have part taken in a K-Swiss Design competition in 2009. I was inspired for my main design, by a painting project at my University where Helen Davidson and I painted the first coat of a multi-layered wall painting.

This is the painting here:

These are the designs I made from it for the shoe. This is both sides of the shoe, one within the cut-out:

And here the finished shoe in all-around view:

I also submitted a few other designs, just for fun, apart from my main design.

This one, I created using my own design:

I used the online tools to make this design:

Soniorita et Stefanigi T-shirt Designs

SUMMER PROJECT 2009

These are the t-shirt designs that me and my friend Stefanos Birmpotsoukis have put together under the artist name "Soniorita et Stefanigi" in the summer of 2009. We submitted a few of them to some Threadless competitions, but non of them got taken. Here is my Threadless profile, if you want to have a look.

These are the sketches for the designs. If you want to have a closer look at them, just click on the pictures for higher resolution.

We have tried submitting the designs below for a VW Threadless competition but they were not up to the standard, so the official statement.

The next two were also submitted to a Threadless competition with the same outcome. This one was called "Childhood Loves", I think.

The following designs were not created for any specific reasons. We were planning to submit them, but we didn't get around to it. I think they are still pretty cool though :)

I made t-shirts for myself out of the invisible gentleman and the sunset.
